Mission Statement

New Mission Statement

A mission is a special goal or purpose, one that is accompanied by a strong conviction or calling. Each Catholic school has a mission statement that encapsulates its distinctive job or core purpose. At St George’s, a special working party was formed under the guidance of Miss Small and included members of staff, governors, parents, clergy and children. Over a series of meetings it was tasked with reviewing the school’s existing mission statement and developing something new, meaningful and relevant.
Being much shorter and more memorable were the factors considered most important in trying to articulate our school’s distinctive mission. We are very excited about the final outcome to reveal to you today:

The mission statement puts faith at the heart of all we do at school and incorporates our school motto. It speaks of tolerance and respect that we understand as important Gospel values. Central to a successful education is the relationship between school, home and parish and our new statement highlights this, as well as building on the success of our love in Action programme, ensuring a commitment to its positive legacy.
