St George's Day Celebrations
On Tuesday 30th April, children and staff came to school wearing red and white as we celebrated our Patronal Saint, St George. As faith is at the heart of our school, we congregated in the morning to celebrate with a whole school Mass lead by 5G
The children then returned to their classrooms where stories of St. George were shared, along with various activities and all children participated in the annual St George’s Day Art Competition. This year children were asked to design a shield in honour of St George. The standard of the designs was high and showed great creativity and skill. It was very difficult to select the runners up and winners and all children should be very proud of their efforts. It has been wonderful listening to all of the children and staff discussing and celebrating a selection of the artworks displayed along the main corridor.
It was a fantastic day and we all enjoyed it.
