World Book Day 2019
Our children and staff thoroughly enjoyed World book day this year. Two of our Year 6 children wrote the following accounts:
On Thursday 7th March, Helena from POP Theatre came to our school to talk about World Book Day. She told us how she loved listening to stories and how she always wanted to act, and so she did. She presented a puppet show with a rat called Ratty and a Koala called Jerry. It was really funny and everyone enjoyed the show.
During World Book Day, we were all dressed up as a character from a book such as Matilda, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Three Little Pigs and more. Even all the teachers' came in amazing outfits. It was so fun! We were asked to decorate our classroom doors and we had the opportunity to take part in many other fun activities.
This week was World Book Day and many people came to school dressed up as one of the characters from their favourite books. I thought that everyone looked amazing and that you could tell that everyone had put a lot of effort into creating the costumes. My friends and I all thought that the teachers had really good costumes too – they all looked great!
We both would like to thank Mrs Smith for organising a wonderful World Book Day.
