Election of Parent Governor
We are excited to announce a vacancy for a parent governor at St George’s Catholic Primary School. This is a valuable opportunity to help shape the future of our school and support our Catholic community.
Being a parent governor is a rewarding role that involves working with the school’s leadership to make important decisions. You don’t need any special skills, just a genuine interest in the school and a willingness to contribute. Many parent governors come from all walks of life and make a real difference.
The commitment includes attending three full Governing Body meetings and three committee meetings each year. Don’t worry, training and support are provided to help you feel confident and prepared.
How to Nominate:
· Any parent of a registered pupil at St George’s can be nominated by another parent.
· Please check with the parent you wish to nominate to make sure they are happy to stand.
· You can self-nominate.
· Nomination forms can be downloaded from the school website.
· Return completed nomination forms by Thursday, 12th March by 12 noon.
· If you are nominated, you will need to complete a ‘Declaration of Eligibility’ form (available on the website or on request) and write a short statement (around 200 words) about yourself for other parents to read.
· If there is more than one nomination, we will hold an election. Ballot papers and candidate details will be sent to all parents so you can vote.
We warmly encourage you to consider this opportunity to serve and strengthen our parish and school community. Those elected will receive all the support and training needed to succeed.
If you want to find out more about the role, please do not hesitate to speak with Mr O'Rourke: either personally, or contact the school office to make an appointment. Alternatively, you are welcome to contact the Chair of Governors via the school office who will arrange to speak with you.
Thank you for considering this important role.
