Tag Rugby

Enfield Tag Rugby Tournament

On Friday 18th November, the Year 6 tag rugby team took part in the Borough of Enfield Tag Rugby Tournament. It took place at Enfield Ignatians rugby club. Our team was made up of Oscar A, Declan, Emma, Ava, Erik, Luke, Danny, Molly and myself, Grace C. Our 1st match was against Garfield school. We won 8-1. Our second match was against Brettenham and we won 6-5. Our 3rd match was against Hazelwood and we won again, 6-4. In our final round match, we beat St. Andrew’s (2), 7-5.As we had won all our first round matches, we progressed into the semi-finals. We won 4-3 against George Spicer. The whole team were very excited and surprised that we had made it to the final. We had played so well so far but we still had the most important match to come. It all got very tense then because we were playing the last 4 years winners, St. Andrew’s (1). Many tags were taken and many trys were scored, but in the end, we lost 8-7. We were quite disappointed but happy we had made it that far. It was a fantastic team effort and a wonderful day. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Williams, Mrs H Burke and our brilliant coach, Hadee for the opportunity to play for our school.
